GFS was an integral part of a remediation team to renovate the exposed decks of two large parking garages.  Water leaking through the old traffic membrane systems was damaging the concrete structures. 

 

After collaborating with the university, engineering firm, coatings manufacturer and the general contractor, GFS managed the installation of new waterproofing and traffic coating systems to eliminate the water intrusion.

 

Project challenges included a compressed work window while students were away for the summer and frequent afternoon monsoon rainstorms that required creative adjustments to the installation schedule.  The new traffic membrane systems are performing well, solving a problem that the university grappled with for over ten years.
